The finale: Florida Part III

Our time on Little Gasparilla came to an end on a beautiful warm sunny day. Before we took the water taxi back to the mainland, we spent the morning exploring the beach some more.

This time though, we ventured onto the  State Park area of the beach that separates each end of the island from one another. There are no houses and hardly any people, other than the park ranger, who in my opinion, has one of the best jobs in the world.

Finally it was time to leave and head to Punta Gorda, where we would stay for a night before moving onto Fort Myers for our last day.

We arrived in Punta Gorda in the late afternoon. We were lucky to get a cheap hotel room right on the water for a great deal through Priceline. The hotel was the Four Points by Sheraton and it had an amazing Tiki Bar right on the water. We spent an hour at the pool and then headed to the Tiki Bar to watch our last Floridian sunset. As always, this one did not disappoint.

While we were at the tiki bar we looked on Groupon for things to do in the area and found a brewery that our water taxi had actually recommended earlier in the day. The Groupon was for two pints and a large cheese pizza at Fat Point Brewery in Punta Gorda, which happened to be only a few minutes away.

Our dinner at the brewery was awesome. We sat at the bar where there are large windows showing the area where they actually brew the beer. The beer and the pizza was delicious and the staff gave the best service that we had had in out whole week in Florida.

We ended the night early so that we could get up early to explore Fort Myers in the morning before flying back to Boston in the evening.
Our last day in Fort Myers was the warmest, sunniest yet. Unfortunately it was just a little more crowded…..but either way was nice to relax in the sun and enjoy the views from the pier!

It was finally time to leave, after a week of adventure down the coast of Southwest Florida.

To put it all in perspective we drove over 200 miles from Tampa to Fort Myers, stopping at three different places on the way.

I could go on and on about how amazing our trip was and how beneficial travelling is for putting life into perspective, but I will just leave it at…I can’t wait for the next adventure!!😎🌴🐠☀️✈️
